I have added some Christmas pictures recently. Happy New Year :)

This ending weekend we were in Orillia to visit a Styx (yes, we will hopefully post a review) concert in Casino Rama. We enjoyed the concert and instead of driving back, I had reserved a room in the Best Western: Couchiching Inn. It's actually a really nice place, we even had a little electrical fireplace in the room. We did not use the jaccuzi for hotel guests, since the chlorine smell was just unbearable. And the hotel only serves continental breakfast, so we ate a the restaurant next door, which was OK food as well.

We then went on a little tour of the surroundings - mainly enjoying the fall forest. Check out the pictures.



In the afternoon we drove back through the traffic to Toronto, ending our nice little weekend trip.

I know we are missing some updates here, but they are in the works. I have just completed sorting out the categories in a better way, now I just need the time to add more pictures :) There's tons of them waiting to be uploaded.

The Costa Rica Pictures are now online for registered users. Some descriptions are still missing though.

We spent the Valentine's day weekend in Ottawa. Driving into Ottawa after work on Friday was quite tiring - but we did finally arrive at our hotel, The Bostononian. We liked our 'suite': It featured three rooms, and the tiny kitchen (which we hardly used) even a dishwasher.

We normally would have stayed with friends, however we didn't want to impose during the Valentine's weekend and their move. Actually booking the hotel was kinda a last minute decision, and then also the booked hotel turned out not to be available. Hence the reservation was switched, but it ended up being cheaper and more central, so it worked out to our advantage.

Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the Valentine's diner, where we eventually ended up in a 'family restaurant', which wasn't really all that great and still quite expensive. But we still had a good weekend and enjoyed spending time together. All the other restaurants were booked due to the special day and Winterlude going on. We spent the evening watching Ghost.

Despite the colder weather we were lucky enough to have a chance to go skating on the canal with our friend Tanja. Unfortunately the rented skates were uncomfortable as always, so I guess I should maybe consider getting some soft boot ones like the ones Kim has. What started with strong wind and blowing snow during breakfast turned out to be a nice day for skating after all.

On Sunday we took things easy after a nice breakfast and we also had a stopover at Tanja's for tea on the way out. The drive back home in the afternoon seemed rather fast this time, despite not taking to Express Tool Route (407). We stopped in Mississauga at Pho 99, a Vietnamese restaurant.

I have started adding a bunch of pictures to this blog. All but one so far are of the home building effors of our builder, and one is a family picture. I've decided to keep them non-public, but they will be accessible for friends & family. So please sign up for a reader account and get access to those pictures.

So this is it. I am starting the new year with a new blog site and I am hoping that my wife will join me in editing this from time to time. Also I'll transfer the pictures in from our existing site, so please stay tuned....
